I’m placing my bet now – I think Lance is the next paladin birthday. I already mentioned (at least I did to @mamamora and @biotechnlcal ) that the tweet on the first HAS to be about a leap day baby. Because they said “the closest and farthest away”. It’s this month, but this year is not a leap year, so it technically won’t happen until 2020. Leap babies are pisces, which is a water sign.      Lance scoffs, the furrow of his brow more pronounced than ever. Typical, he thinks, that Keith would draw the conversation back to such an outdated topic. His fingers thumb the card, the messy remains of their little ‘game’ sprawled across the table. 

     His expression is nothing short of mocking, a smirk-like twist to his lips betraying his genuine pleasure from such a grandiose moment. Keith’s own is set to nothing short of betrayal, the part between his lips evident, the press of his thick brows proving his shock.

     ❝Them’s the breaks,❞ he says, whatever that means, reclining in his golden throne. His friends surround them, various exasperated features crossing their faces, yet Lance’s eyes dare not stray from Keith’s face. Trust Keith to make such a moment more dramatic than it needs to be. ❝You helped me take down the others, sure, but sacrifices have to be made, Keith.❞

     Lance leans forwards, the curve of his fingers splaying his card simply. A final card, the Altean version of a wild card, rests gently in his grip. 

     ❝Game over,❞ he grins simply, trumping Keith’s final move and effectively completing the round. A laugh, full of pride and simple amusement echoes the room. 

     ❝Better luck next time,❞ he simpers, taking pleasure in the way Keith’s expression forms into vivid frustration.
